Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Austin Hurley, doing business as JanusTCG ("Janus", "we", "us"), Ontario, Canada. By creating an account or using Janus, you agree to them. If you use Janus for a business, you agree on its behalf.
1. What Janus does
Janus helps you identify trading cards from images, keep an inventory of singles, graded slabs and sealed product, create listings on marketplaces you connect, keep listing quantities in sync when items sell, and manage orders. Features available to you depend on your plan.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account.
- Keep your login details secure. You're responsible for activity on your account.
- Give us accurate information and keep it up to date.
3. Plans, payment and the Merchant of Record
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Paid plans renew automatically each month or year until cancelled. Prices shown exclude taxes, which Paddle calculates at checkout.
- Free trial. New accounts receive a 14-day Pro trial without payment details. When it ends, your account moves to the free Basic plan unless you subscribe.
- Price lock. The price you subscribe at won't increase for as long as your subscription stays active. The lock ends if you cancel, or if a payment fails and isn't resolved within 30 days. Taxes may change as required by law.
- Plan changes. We won't remove a feature from a plan you're subscribed to. If we move features from Pro into a new higher plan, everyone subscribed to Pro at that time is moved to the higher plan at no extra cost, at their existing price, for as long as they stay subscribed.
- Cancelling. You can cancel any time. Your plan stays active until the end of the paid period. Refunds follow our Refund Policy.
- Referrals. Referral discounts, where offered, apply only while the referred subscriptions are paid and active, and may not be combined with abuse such as self-referral.
4. Fair use
Plans described as unlimited are for normal use by one business. To keep the service fast for everyone, very high volumes may be processed at standard speed, and the number of connected accounts per marketplace may be limited, as described on our pricing page. Full-size original scans may be deleted 90 days after a card is sold; listing photos are kept.
5. Connected marketplaces
- When you connect a marketplace (for example eBay or Shopify), you authorize Janus to create, change and end listings and to read orders on your behalf. You can disconnect at any time.
- Your use of each marketplace is governed by that marketplace's own terms and policies. You remain the seller and are responsible for your listings, prices, condition descriptions, fulfilment and customer service.
- Marketplaces can be slow, unavailable or change how they work. Janus is designed to update quantities quickly and to show you whether each change was confirmed, but we can't guarantee that an item will never sell on two marketplaces at once. Check your orders and sync status, and contact us if something looks wrong.
6. Card identification and prices
Identification results, condition suggestions and market prices are estimates to help you. Review them before listing. Janus doesn't grade cards or verify authenticity.
7. Your content and data
- You own your photos, inventory and listing content. You give us permission to store, process and send them to the marketplaces you choose, only to provide the service.
- You can export your inventory at any time on every plan.
- We don't sell your personal data. See the Privacy Policy.
8. Acceptable use
Don't use Janus to:
- sell counterfeit, stolen or prohibited items, or misrepresent items;
- break any law or any marketplace's rules;
- access other accounts, probe or overload our systems, or scrape the service;
- resell or share access to the service without our permission.
We may suspend accounts that put other users, marketplaces or the service at risk.
9. Beta and availability
Janus is in beta. We work to keep it available and accurate, but it's provided "as is", and features may change. We'll give reasonable notice of significant changes where we can.
10. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or sales, or marketplace fees or penalties, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be excluded.
11. Ending the agreement
You can close your account at any time. We may end or suspend the service for breach of these terms, with notice where reasonable. On closure, we delete your data as described in the Privacy Policy, after giving you a chance to export it.
12. Changes to these terms
We'll post changes here and notify subscribers by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Changes never override your price lock or the plan-change promise in section 3.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, unless your local consumer law says otherwise.
